Getting Started

A busy kart race paddock is a daunting place to be - especially if you've never driven any kind of kart before.

Here's how we suggest you ease your way into the sport.

Rental Karting Schools

We recommend that new young drivers have experienced 4-stroke racing before taking on the stresses of 2-stroke driving. You learn the pedals, how to steer and spatial awareness.

Of choice, we recommend Castle Combe Karting. We've had many drivers join the team after racing there, and they are better prepared than most in their driving skills, racing skills and general understanding of racing situations.

If you're a brand new driver, an extra half season gaining experience is well worth it.

Attaq Academy

The Attaq Academy should be the first step for anyone thinking about moving into 2-stroke racing. As a try-before-you-buy experience it is exceptional. Whether you intend to race with Attaq Motorsport or on your own, you will gain valuable understanding as to what you're taking on.

ARKS Test & Beyond

Before taking part in MSUK-regulated racing, drivers need to take their ARKS test which qualifies them for a race licence. The test is quite simple, it's designed to weed out those who are not ready yet as opposed to trip up those who are.

Use our Step Up to 2-Stroke programme to practice before taking the test. You'll be working with instructors and our race team, and will learn so much to prepare you for your first race.
